The Path to Wellness

Beauty is not limited to just the exterior. Beauty is intentionally nature and our physical appearance is just a small part of it. Therefore one should endeavour  to look beyond size, weight, height or skin colour to transform our personality.

A number of self help books will tell you how to deal with the many aspects of one's life. To live a wholesome life one needs to transform the way we look at nutrition, grooming and attitude towards our day-to-day life. Beauty is not limited to just the exterior - size, weight, height or skin colour. Beauty is internal in nature and our physical appearance is only a part of it. Therefore one should endeavour to look beyond external factors to transform our personality.

The first step in this transformation  is the acceptance of the fact that we are beautiful as we are. The important thing is to take good care of our skin,, hair  and body by eating well, exercising and maintaining basic hygiene. One must pay attention to their body right from the toe to the head.

Hair: Our tresses require good nutrition to start with. Eating well and on time is essential not just for healthy hair but it is also essential in regulating the functions of our body. To maintain a healthy scalp one should apply hair oil regularly. To enable good circulation of blood one should massage the oil into the scalp with light strokes. It is important to remember that stress is also  a contributing factor to the heath of your hair.

Skin : It is a myth that colour of your skin defines its beauty. Fair or dark, a healthy skin is radiant and free of blemishes. As always a healthy diet and and exercise will give instant boost to your skin. Advertisements might recommend creams and expensive  treatments for fairness, but one must remember that these creams use chemicals and can sometime spoil the quality of our skin. Drinking 8 to 10  glasses of water, including vegetables and fruits in your diet, getting 6 to 8 hours sleep will give you a radiance that even the most expensive facial treatment cannot.

Personality : While trendy attire , jewellery and make-up do contribute to the first impression we make, we need to develop confidence to make a lasting impression. One must also maintain a good posture. While wearing fashionable attire is nice, it is crucial to feel comfortable while doing so. Conducting yourself with humility and politeness is of great significance.

Dealing with stress : Self -improvement is a journey one takes every single day- consciously and unconsciously. One is likely to face problems, difficulties and unhappy incidents and these are integral to human life. One must endeavour to face these with confidence and courage. A little bit of introspection is sure to yield solutions to life's smallest and biggest problems.

Body : One must treat their body like a temple. It is important to respect your body in order for it to support you through this journey called life. Avoid bad habits and inculcate good habits that add value to our health. Everyday life takes its toll on our body and mind alike. Listen to your body. If you feel tired, be sure to take enough rest.
Remember that you are unique and don't forget to celebrate yourself, eat well, rest well and remember  to include things in your life that bring you joy. Keep negativity aside and enjoy every moment of every day.
In the end, send out a small prayer to the Universe. I invite all the external forces to shower all the goodness and the positivity on myself and the world, and to discard all the negative energy.

"This, too, shall pass,"

Dr. Martin Seligman of the University of Pennsylvania did an intensive research on what creates learned helplessness. In his book Learned Optimism he reports on three specific patterns of beliefs that cause us to feel helpless and can destroy virtually every aspect of our lives. He calls these three categories permanence, pervasiveness, and personal. Many of our country's greatest achievers have succeeded in spite of running into huge problems and barriers. The difference between them and those who give up revolves around their beliefs about the permanence, or lack thereof, of their problems.  Achievers rarely, if ever, see a  problem as permanent, while those who fail, see even the smallest problems as permanent. Once you adopt the belief that there's nothing you can do to change something, simply because nothing you've  done up until now has changed it, you start to take a pernicious poison into your system. No matter what happens in your life, you've got ...

Problem Solving Questions ...............Continued

Every morning when we wake up, we ask ourselves questions. When the alarm goes off, what question do you ask yourself? Is it, How come I have to get up right now?," "Why aren't there more hours in the day?, "What if I hit the snooze alarm just one more time?" And as you get in the shower, what are you asking yourself? "Why do I have to go to work?," "How bad is the traffic going to be  today?," "What kind of stuff is going to be dumped on my desk today?" What if every day you consciously started asking a pattern of questions that would put you in the right frame of mind and that caused you to remember how grateful, happy, and excited you are? What kind of day do you think you'd have, with those positive emotional states as your filter?  Obviously it would affect how you feel about virtually everything. Realizing this, I decided I needed a "success ritual" and I created a series of questions that I ask myself ever...

The Magnificent Obsession - Creating A Compelling Future....

GIANT GOALS PRODUCE GIANT MOTIVATION So often, people ask me, "Where do I get my energy? With all that intensity, no wonder you're so successful. I just don't have your drive; I guess  I'm not motivated. I guess I'm lazy." My usual response is, "You're not lazy! You just have impotent goals!" Frequently I get a confused look to this response, at which point I explain that my level of excitement and drive comes from my goals. Every morning when I wake up, even if I feel physically exhausted from a lack of sleep, I'll still find the drive I need because my goals are so exciting to me. They get me up early, keep me up late, and inspire me to marshal my resources and use everything I can possibly find within the sphere of my influence to bring them to fruition. The same energy and sense of mission is available to you now, but it will never be awakened  by puny goals. The first step is to develop bigger, more inspiring, more challenging ...
